Sick and tired

According to the Zoe app we have an estimated 4,583 cases of Covid in Tendring today which is down by 1,650 from last week. Meanwhile checking in with family on our zoom this is the week more family members than ever have it.

It’s come from work and Nursery. So you have to wonder at the infection control measures in those workplaces.

The ongoing news of our man child leader dominates our conversation.

We stay silent about worries about long term effects.

It’s been cold this week and we listen about the rain in Australia. Hear a story of a parent rescuing it’s baby possum. We’re given a tour of the flowers and fruit trees. There’s more concern about the ongoing environmental disaster. The bit about the community sick and tired of waiting resonates on a deep level.

There’s concern over our cousin, has she settled in. Perhaps, a little. Too early to be sure. Evidence of old patterns emerging that give rise for concern. Still no word from Adult social care since that message they left on my phone not knowing anything about the story and I wonder if they’ve spoken to the mental health Nurse or the GP or the warden. They didn’t seem to have looked at their notes before phoning me with no concern for my blood pressure. While writing to my MP about the ongoing fuckwittery and referral to the 1922 committee I mentioned again that she hasn’t been seen. STILL despite empty words.

The people who are supporting it turns out arrived earlier than expected so were missed. They are coming again next week to deal with that pile of unopened letters that are causing so much fear. There’s concern over a neighbour but not wanting to interfere. I can’t help but put this into the context of what I’ve seen before.

We remembered our Aunty. Smiled at how when given a tour of the vineyards she said how she’d seen the cabbages. Sometimes we only see what we want to see.

My work bridges the gap for organisations struggling to implement policies, training and procedures that drive measurable climate adaptation outcomes. By combining evidence based training with practical tools I empower SME's to embed sustainability into their core operations, fostering resilience and long term impact.
