Fire fire

We noticed that the greensward and playing field are looking very dry.  The grass is like dried hay.  There was a big black smoke cloud coming over from Weeley, people had said.  Essex Fire and Rescue Service had posted that they attended a field fire.  With the wind direction, it didn’t make it here.

As we have more extreme weather events, I can’t help but wonder if their service is receiving some more investment and our investment in water storage?  After all, when exactly was our last reservoir built?  Well, a quick search tells us that there are ongoing projects with full recognition of the need but concerns that the private water companies will pass on the costs to us, the consumer.  Nothing new there.

I wasn’t able to get the medication for the bunny.  They need two days’ notice, and what with the weekend and all.  She seems ok, and I wonder about a bunny’s metabolism compared to ours for these off-licence drugs.  She’s taken to lying on the step.  Not sure the eye drops are doing anything.

I’ve closed the Etsy shop.  That was wasted effort and money, unfortunately; they aren’t interested in upping the 20MB x 5 limit. But I’ve found somewhere else, so fingers crossed.

We have another new person dealing with the housing issues, appointed by the insurance company.  My sister says I have champagne ideas on beer money.  I think she’s right.

I honestly wonder how anyone manages to start up a business in the UK.  It involves so many set-up costs before you even know if anything will sell.  I think we are masters of shooting ourselves in the foot.  That said, maybe I’m just being super cynical, and maybe I’ll get some mojo back after I’ve been on this business start-up course that I’ve got coming up.

In the meantime, I’m off to Pilates.  Amanda’s Nan sadly died, so this is a replacement session.
