My last experience of finding a company to work with me on renovations wasn’t great. Me being a woman was the biggest issue for them in my opinion, they were great with the work done for my husband, I tried to persuade him showing him the shoddy work, but he knew better and did what he wanted, and it worked out very well for him.  A familiar story to many.

So now I’m looking for genuine partners who can take the work forward, obviously I wouldn’t use the other folks again.  A recent discussion at the Tendring show highlighted the difficulties with supply chains. In particular we were discussing Caribbean shutters, but they seem to be made in China and the conversation about the ones made in Sweden didn’t land.  Though I note that you can buy external blinds manufactured in the UK from Suffolk.

Yesterday was circles and apparent dead ends.  I’ve reached out to Ambitious Essex again after a frustrating morning, they did try to phone me back, but I was in the Dr’s surgery, trying to justify why appropriate Healthcare was required, so I followed them up with an email. 

Tomorrow finds me caught up in transportation issues again, all be it a pleasing result to my advocacy efforts – you know those being a Nurse not a Nurse ones, trying not to be a carer either (here we go again!). That not valued or recognised as work work.

In that moment of pause when the practice manager says oh perhaps, I could contact them again.  Given the seriousness of the healthcare access issues involved I would say, yes perhaps you should.  But I guess you could have a million access routes but if there’s only one person on the end of it, it’s never going to be very quick.

That one person did make a huge difference so there’s that.  Still waiting on the urgent promised medication.

I’ve set up my google business page, updated my Linkedin and been in various discussions.

In personal news I’ve had my hair cut off! Like really cut! 😊  We’re recording tonight (audio) and singing again on Sunday.   

Just in case anyone needs to know (me included) I will not be a carer after my last experiences of systemic abandonment.  Live and learn. 

For those who are I’d give a note of hopefulness Dr Shibley Rahman is currently writing a book so hopefully that will be widely read in NHS circles, hopefully wake a few people up.  We used to talk in my twitter days when I was a Nurse in Palliative care and he was caring for his Mum.
