As much as I’ve announced, I will not be a carer. For all the reasons of exploitation frequently discussed, today was a day at the hospital. Hopefully we got out of the way a whole lot in one go, for which I’m grateful. Am I the only one who gets completely lost in that place? I’m really hoping not to ever be familiar with it, so maybe I’m not the only one who is bloody minded. The journey up there is bad enough. Then of course you get to the machine that doesn’t know who you are when you repeatedly input the same information. Give the same information to a person and suddenly the person knows exactly where you are supposed to be. It’s been the same for years, nothing changes.
I don’t know what’s happened, but there’s loads of rubbish on the central reservation, on the road back. So much plastic, you wouldn’t believe. I’ve never seen it as bad. I wonder why there isn’t some rubbish-cleaning, sucking-up kind of machine that doesn’t endanger people who might otherwise collect it up? It must have fallen off a load because I’ve never seen anything like it. Will it just stay there now forever?
The discussions about driving are ongoing and the offer of moving the car declined, as was another suggested trip to buy a mobility scooter. I just really hope the re-enablement team will receive the appropriate investment. Honestly, if I hear “just pop back” another time I’ll burst and I won’t be alone! Where is the training or is it really a repeated slip of the tongue during a busy day?
How many years have I been banging on about training?
I’m sure I’ll slip into more days like yesterday, sleeping on a riverbank and still be banging on about training long after retirement! Listen hard at my grave and you might still hear me banging on about it.
Walked about 8 or so miles yesterday, so the snooze under a Willow tree was welcome.
Saw a humming hawk moth yesterday, now we all want this plant.
